I'd want the choice between priority system and/or lifepath modules. Either of those are fine.
People wouldn't have to be runners.
Setting is mutable.
Metaplot: As long as it isn't crappy AI's taking over people's brains... I can take it or leave it. Metaplot is good on tabletop because the characters in tabletop are the 'heroes' of a sense, they control a lot of what's going on. If a game is of any decent size, not everyone can be heroes so metaplots kind of just become background noise only a few get to enjoy.
Runs shouldn't be as common as people think, most Runners aren't on a run 24/7, they need down time to recoup, heal, and gear up or just try and get back to the point they can run again. Social RP should be important to runners because Connections.
In-game nuyen tracking is a must have, everyone needs money to improve, even magics.
There's not enough 5th edition supplements to worry about not including any of them. The only thing I wouldn't be adverse to seeing not being there would be many of the super races (I'm looking at you pixies!)

@ThatGuyThere I love shadowrun, but I am not a fan of SR3 and when I played on Denver it was very difficult to get involved in stuff but that was a few years ago.
Karma bloat is a very real thing in SR3.
I don't mind the system for WoD/CoD, just the setting. Especially with God Machine. Hate that. So it is setting rather than system for that.
Kushiel's Debut seems more like a L&L sex game from what I have read.
Nothing against sex games but not my cuppa right now.

I'm finally finding myself with some free time again, looking for a good game. I've pretty much given up on solid Super Hero theme games ever being a thing... so particulars.
Not FS3. Sorry Faraday, I do not like your system, it's to easy for people to modify to be horribly unbalanced.
Not pure consent.
Not World of Darkness / Chronicles of Darkness.
Not Game of Thrones.
No Character Rosters (I prefer to play my own character, not someone elses)
Other than that (heh, what is left?) hit me.

@Sogan The difference is that in Supernatural, the boys moved all across the country. They weren't locked in to one small town.
If they went to a small town it usually had /one/ thing that was taking out the population for them to deal with. If there are a bunch of threats and the population isn't big to begin with...

The food supply (humans) would run out really fast...

As much as I like fictional settings. Even fantasy settings invite discussions about theme. It -always- depends on the staffers and the players in particular.
Meaning, avoiding a historical setting won't keep you from the drama.
It may be impossible to stop all drama, but you can make an effort to limit it, not embrace themes/topics that will make it explode imho.

Yes.
I believe a game will be stronger if it takes elements from history but doesn't try to pretend to be any kind of historical accurate game.
There is a difference between theme elements and setting.
You can take elements from a historical setting and implant that into your theme and use that as a basis for parts of the game and stories you want to tell, but trying to make a 'historical' game is basically shooting yourself in the foot. People are going to have different ideas of the historical culture chosen, people are going to have strong opinions, and it is inviting a huge mess.
So take the elements you like about that historical period, do some creative writing, dress it up in a fictional place with a fictional history that people can read about and get behind.
Will it take more work? Perhaps, perhaps not, because as a Historical game you are already half educating people on the differences of your game and the real world or at least what common 'History' represents.
All of this is just my opinion of course, with what value that is worth.
I do think that attempting to do anything, right now, that involves real world religions is doomed to failure just due to how dramariffic that would be.
Two of the three things I disallow entirely in my games is discussion of Religion and Politics, because it just breeds disagreements (To put it very mildly).

The idea of a historical game is cool, but, I think the first thing that should be done is just to say the /theme/ is set in an alternate world that is like this spot in history.
That way the game has a future and a setting that is the target audience but leaves the future open for development.
One of the biggest things about truly 'historical' settings/themes is that it leaves the future already written, there's nowhere to diverge. The theme and setting become the greatest barrier to plot development.
For example:
Setting a game in Rome during the time of Julius Caesar might be a cool idea, but, we already know that Julius gets wiped out by Brutus and crew which means that the future is already written if you go for historical accuracy.
So the best way (in my honest opinion) to do something like this is to just state right out the gate that these are the differences between historical Rome as we know it (Using the above example) and that things aren't set in stone. The future is unwritten. Women can and do have some power openly, etc.
Any time you make a historical piece and try to keep it true to history such as with religious wars and the like you are setting yourself up for grief in my opinion.

If you make a game, run it the way you want to.
People will play or not play as they see fit.
It is absolutely impossible to please everyone so don't try. Make a game you have fun with, and go with it. That's all anyone can do.

@Arkandel There's plenty of research in it. I'll get you started with the simplest of internet searches:
