I have never played a game with coded clothing objects so cannot speak to that specific culture, but I would see posing clothes I did not have objects for in a game where such things existed to be roughly equivalent to posing abilities I didn't have on games with +sheets.

It's not quite to that extent for ALL clothes, but there are specific rules for it.

2 ) The assumption is, if you are not wearing tailor-made clothes, that you are wearing something non-special. So if you want to be wearing something fancy or well made or whatnot, just posing it isn't OK -- because these objects exist for a reason, silver makes the world go round. That said, I pose my PC's clothing all the time rather than going with the coded stuff. The coded stuff comes out for fancy occasions, but most the time she's wearing 'simple' clothes, so I do pose that.

1 ) My character swears. In private, or when she is very, very, very mad. It's more manners than anything else, though -- I have seen other people do it, particularly some of the saltier Lycene characters.

Man, this is a person that just said it wasn't bad that they are talking about removing tribal sovereignity. I don't think facts have anything to do with the views being expressed.

No. In your posts, you allege this is somehow a trick for a land grab. Allowing the tribes manage their own land instead of having to ask permission from the Federal government increases tribal sovereignty.

Except that the bit of what you said and responded to initially was SPECIFICALLY about the removal of tribal sovereignty. You brought the land grab up as some sort of rebuttal to why losing sovereignty wasn't so bad. This is the relevant bit you quoted and argued with.

There is talk coming down from the Bureau of Indian Affairs that the current administration is looking at pursuing the removal of tribal sovereignty.

My post a few posts back from it, since apparently you can't read:

Land being taken is up near the top, yeah.
      Removing sovereignity is worse.

      And going back even further:

Land privitzation is just part of it.

      Any questions?

      Edited to fix quotes.

Thank you!! Good stuff. I will read it rather than just glancing tonight. My office is super noisy today.

I don't know a whole lot about the issues the tribes in other parts of the country are facing, but here we have a great working relationship with the local and state governments. I agree that the expansion of rights would be a very good thing for the Salish peoples at least.

It is a HUGE deal at least here. The tribe isn't just against it, they are already lawyering up and getting ready to fight in a big way. This is not quite life and death, but it is not that far away from it, either.

I guess the point is, if you are averaging even 50 economic resources a week, you won't be able to afford it. But Pravus pulls in more than that because other people contribute. I can't afford a diamond plate sword on my own...But my House? Can.

I think I was not clear. My success is due to delegation, not lots of time. If I tried to do everything myself, I would fail. Spectacularly. Encouraging people to delegate and involve other people is not a bug. It is a feature.

Allowing the nobles to be able to do everything they want without involving other people is BAD. You should not be able to buy a diamondplate sword on a whim, unless you are using House funds. That the game is set up so that us Dukes and Duchesses actually NEED other people is really good.

If you want the sparkly, it takes work to accomplish. There are many things that work could look like, but a pittance of a salary is not SUPPOSSED to be able to afford magic weapons.

I find it frustrating to have it be implied that to be successful, you have to be online a lot, not have a life, etc. I am not successful because I have a time advantage (being on and being engaged are very different).

      I delegate.

Yeah, the code isn't for everyone. I think you should be fine to ignore most of it -- if you do your journals on the website you even get the XP that way. I should probably engage more with tasks, but...Well, eventually.

@Meg Your 200 weeks calculation does not include weekly economic resources, so don't forget that. Even without selling to other PCs, they are 4 per 1000 silver. That helps mitigate these costs a LOT. If you do one of the big econ tasks, that's a LOT of silver for you. The bulk of my house has been contributing to this stuff, I've been pushing a lot of this sort of activity, which is why I'm not dead broke with all the stuff I have been doing.

It genuinely seems so obvious to me that I don't know how I could provide examples, I'm sitting here looking at the posts. If it's really not your intention to be a jerk, maybe just don't come in the Arx thread and piss on things any more? I don't have anything helpful I can provide you with, sorry.

I did not used to be a fan of the ascii/ansi art or colors or anything, but @ixokai made me switch to Potato a while back and now that I can see /all/ the pretty colors, my opinion is swiftly changing. Some of the stuff all y'all can do is incredible.
