      That is not the extent of it. I'm not really interested in rehashing this, I am dealing with it too much right now, but we are looking more at like what happened in the 50s. Look into the native relocation act. Land privitzation is just part of it. It's fucking scary.

      I tracked down someone I hadn't spoken to in like 15 years that I feel is responsible in good part for a lot of the qualities that I really value in myself. She played mentor for me for years and patterned a lot of really good behavior, and a lot of it stuck. Yaaaaaay.

      There is talk coming down from the Bureau of Indian Affairs that the current administration is looking at pursuing the removal of tribal sovereignty.

      Now I feel bad for probably breaking the streak. -.- Though they're not the commoners in question.

      I wish you guys the best of luck with this project. It would be amazing to see it get off the ground. It's such a good setting for a mush.

      If someone reminds me I will try and find an old pill bottle at home to remember what it is. I have the same crazy ambien reaction, though nowhere near as bad as it sounds like other folks do.

      Talk to your GP. Again. Try something new. Try another something new if that doesn't work. There are other medications. We went through a million things and finally landed on a nausea medication with an off label use that works like a dream for me during my bouts with sleeplessness.

      In my case, I'm actually wired nocturnal. So insomnia rears its ugly head pretty regularly. We just had to keep trying different stuff.

      It literally does not matter how the staff member is behaving, for answering his question. Nobody's jumping on him, it just so happens that the answer to the question he asked isn't the one he hoped for. Taking that as unreasonable criticism or people being aggressive is pretty ridiculous.

      Sure I can leave the game, but to me that means they win

      With the attitude that you displayed there, plus the one you've used to respond, there is no fixing the situation. Seriously. The attitude you are showing here is going to shoot you in the foot and there is no advice I can give that is helpful. I am not saying this to be a dick, I am answering your question. What can you do? Change your attitude, to start.

      When the situation has been turned into one about 'winning' there is no 'dealing with staff' that is going to happen. That tone will always get through, and that will remove any ability for any sort of repair or positive working things out or anything.

      @Roz @Pyrephox

      Yeah, I'm not at all suggesting that there's any problem with people that DO enjoy this stuff -- I happen to like the challenge of the -isms in my own play, much of the time. I was objecting to the idea that there was something wrong with people who did not. I object to it being stated that it is such a foreign idea that it could not be understood, when all it takes -- at all -- is a little bit of empathy to understand why exploring trauma someone has experienced RL may not be something they want to do in their pretendy fun time. I object to the thought that there is something wrong with someone wanting to explore some aspects of the Victorian age (pretty dresses!) and not others.

      @Kestrel said in Sensitive cultural/political/religious aspects of game themes.:

      I happen to think that rape, sexism, racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia and the like make for great storytelling — this coming from someone frequently derided as a SJW — so I tend not to understand why anyone would want to exclude these themes from their story where they should realistically apply.

      Some people do not enjoy having to fight the same fight they have to fight in their everyday lives in their pretendy-fun-time games, don't enjoy exploring trauma that they have personally experienced. It's not really a hard concept to grasp even if you don't feel the same way. Empathy is awesome.
