The best thing about the play is that no one covers the RB out of the backfield instead two players covered the TE. The assignments got messed up and McCaffrey would have scored with either route.

@Kestrel
One thing I think you forget is that this place basically exists for bitching. Granted in current form it is far more constructive then past edition but it is still the offspring of WORA.
So yes most conversation here is in the negative it is most likely going to be like that for any game.
To address another point , you mentioned waiting until shit hits the fan to panic, while that is likely good advice you are also new to the MUSH side of things, a few (dozen) pages back i mentioned how grudges get carried over, but they are not the only things that do. People's experiences do as well, I would wager that those losing shit prematurely likely have been burned a few times in the past and are gun shy now. That is a normal reaction take a dog that gets mistreated and it takes a lot of work to accept that new people won't do the same. This is a basic animal reaction, and regardless of how we like to think we are advanced or above in most cases humans make the basic animal reactions to things. -
RE: System dealbreakers
Traveller Cgen was more fun for me than actually playing Traveller, it joins FASA Star Trek and anything Palladium in that regard.

I think this is a dangerous mentality to adhere to.
How is being polite and respectful a dangerous mentality to adhere to? I never said people didn't have a right to complain, or that staff shouldn't consider the complaints objectively and decide if there's truly a problem here. But ultimately staff decides what kind of environment they want to have.
Because the phrase "voice complaints politely and respectfully" or sentiment along those lines is used as polite short hand for "shut the hell up" often enough that many people will default to reading it as such.

I agree with everything you just said and I personally like to learn new systems, but I hear a lot of people shoehorning WoD the system into things because "it is the system people know"
I personally always prefer a system focused on what theme and tone you want rather than trying to retrofit something to be just good enough to work that that view is far from universal. -

Saints/Vikings game totally made up for how lackluster yesterday felt.
Goddamn.
Hells to the yeah, while I am certainly biased being a Vikings fan, that was the best ending to a game I have seen in years, 4 lead changes in the last 3:01, and a spectacular winning play. Games like that are why I watch football and my team winning only make it better. ... And I should admit between it happening live and all the TV replays then me watching it on you tube I have probably seen that last play a good 35 times.

RE: Kushiel's Debut
@Echx
My issue is less with what happened on the game, as I have not played there since before this plot started.
However, if what Sunny claimed is true and you took anger over a game out on her on FB then that ranks right up there with Elsa's angry e-mails and well the e-mail sent by Skaldia. It also brands you as a person I would avoid at all costs.
I am not sure what drives folks to take game issue to non-game places, (This is a game place because while it is not affiliated with any game is exists to discuss gaming and games) but doing so almost always makes you an asshat. -

But basic mechanics? If someone joined a DnD game and didn't have at least a basic grasp of how it works, people would be pissed. Expert level mastery not needed, but a goodly many folks at least know the general gist, even if they have to look stuff up occasionally. That is the expectation.
Off Topic Rant but here goes, for gods sake look up your shit before it is your turn if you are a player. Combat both in Table top and in mush is not all that fast moving, if you have a power, skill, spell, or whatever, and wonder if it can be useful, look at it while during one of the folks going before you. Yes sometimes the situation can change and cause a delay that is understandable but abut half the time wasted in combat would be fixed by people getting prepared to take their turn a little in advance.

Our 'grandpa/ma on the rockin' chair' stories are going to make the boomer tales about Woodstock and whatnot look like a Disney film, and that is absolutely winning.
So much this, I am very thankful my college days were before the advent of smartphones and everything being visually documented.

So, saying offense/whatever wasn't the intention now marks an apology as non-sincere? Good to know. No offense intended.
No but if you did not intend it, say some thing like "I did not mean to offend you, but I did and I am sorry for offending you."
That is not what the non-pology wa. the non-pology was "I do apologize that was what it was taken as, just saying that wasn't my intention." There is no apology for any action the apologizer took but instead for how it was perceived. there is a big difference between "I did not mean to offend you, sorry." and "I am sorry you were offended." -

@fortydeuce said in Internet Attacks? Why?:
Accurate. Though that one about "would you rather have a sword or be really feared?" was kind of a no-good-choice question for me.
that question stumped me too, I ended up going with sword since cool stuff is alright, and I have zero desire to be feared.

@arkandel I agree... but why I like things affecting NPCs instead of PCs. There was a whole thread on this not that long ago that we don't need to rehash.
My question would be if social can only be used on NPCs but physical can be used on PCs and NPCs and they cost the same , you would be doing yourself a disservice to not buy physical over social.
Especially because in most RP environments a well written pose describing IC awkwardness will win you more friends than a poorly written one describing social awesomeness, so you can follow the mechanical rules pose your low social stats yet get the full benefit of having higher ones except for the occasional use on an NPC. -
RE: Good TV
@auspice
I really like legends, it and Supergirl are the only two DC shows I watch, though I will a good check of my enjoyment are the obscure DC characters that make appearances. If they throw in a Slam Bradley or Crimson Avenger (either version) appearance I would promise to watch it forever. -
RE: The 100: The Mush
Honestly, I think you guys running a private game is a good step. While the tone of this thread have hardly been positive or constructive it does seem like you two are taking the complaints as things to earnestly work on.
It is easier to try out new approaches with a smaller group, and as people has said doing something generally makes you better at it. -

I play a character that is usually a jeans and t-shirt guy. But lo and behold, in THIS scene, he's wearing a suit. Maybe it's pressed and fresh. Maybe it's rumpled and the tie is undone. Why is this character wearing a suit all of a sudden?
I agree with the sentiment but not the execution, if my PC who is a jeans and t-shirt guy is wearing a suit then I will have his suit desc on. Someone waiting for me to pose on outfit in a scene would be waiting forever.
I don't really mind them being posed but I am much more likely to look at something if i want to refresh my memory on a desc rather than scroll up so what the desc says will be what I tend to be roleplaying with anyway. -

5 min from closing, kitchen is almost clean, everyone's wrapping up.........
Big party walks through the door.
You can bet there's a raging kitchen staff when you do that. Don't be those people.
One of my first jobs was at a kitchen in a restaurant, it was like two weeks after I started and all the kitchen staff was out taking a smoke break (This is also the job where I started smoking because smokers got two extra breaks) before clean up. We just got out there when we see a tour bus pull in less than 10 minutes from close. We ran back inside and and quickly got the clean up on the grills and oven started so we couldn't cook. Not my finest hour as an employee but I do not regret it.

Maybe it could work. But another thing that made Star Wars cool was space, space fights, ships flying around. With everyone on a single planet I don't know if you will still allow that.
As with other things you have to pick your poisons. For instance I was bothered sometimes on Dawn of Defiance because I was on planet A and someone was offering RP on planet B... so it was a big deal to make up an excuse to be on a different freakin' planet every single time.
We all have different priorities but to me that's a bigger hiccup.
For me I think one main planet is the way to go. Let space be a plot thing, in my experience on past SW games but nothing killed my desire to play at a place more then spending an hour RL navigating H space or waiting on automated transports just to get to where the RP was.
