@Sunny
To use your the cop analogy someone paging me about my whereabouts is the equivalent of making and illegal left turn, illegal yes but do you call the cops every time you see it happen?
If a person did it enough it became harassment, or to further the analogy making an illegal left and causing a wreck, then yes I would call.
MUSH staff like police can't handle every thing nor is every violation of policy equally in need of stomping on. So I would rather have staff deal with bigger issues and let me set a flag that takes care of the smaller.

RE: Stuff Done Right
While I fully agree that unfindable does not solve the problem unless I am staff solving the problem is less my concern then enjoying myself. I so not see it as passive aggressive I am simply choosing to make my information known, it is no more passive aggressive then me not typing my ssn on the forums. While I would report something that rose to the level of harassment the problem 90 percent of the time is a minor annoyance that is corrected with a minor fix.

RE: Stuff Done Right
I dislike the unfindable flag on principle but I use it, because it might just be a few bad apple but boy are they bad.
One every game I start out findable and then only turn on unfindable after getting pages about why are you rping with so and so, or omg you are in a private room you must be tsing or what not.
Sadly it is not an isolated thing i end up setting myself unfindable on between 1/2 and 2/3 or the games I have played on. ddly enough I must not attract the popular type of crazy cause Reach was one of them I never had to. -
RE: The State of the Chronicles of Darkness
I agree with Raptor on the WoD table top issue though with one caveat. I think MUSHing has helped me run better WoD tabletops because I slow them down more then when I run other genres, and I know since that style change I have gotten a lot of positive feedback and more of the gaming group interested in WoD.

RE: [REQUEST] Comprehensive MUSH experience
I also tend to metapose with certain characters more then others, for example if I am playing some one who is not subtle I will include more meta stuff because it would be more readily readable to those around him, but if I am playing someone who is a spy that has trained a lot in hiding what he is thinking I would not metapose much at all because he would not be giving off those clues.
About the only universal opinion you will find on this topic is that the passive aggressive insult metaposing is bad. -

The shaving talk makes me so glad I am a guy who has given up on relationships.
I had the soft skin coarse hair problem as well. Mow I just get my beard trimmed when I get my hair cut and everything is wonderful. -
RE: The State of the Chronicles of Darkness
While I like the freedom to make new kiths, how likely is that to happen?
Maybe it is just my table-top group but rarely even if the person complains they can't find something they want giving them the ability to create something new either by book saying so or GM usually results with them picking one of the available options as the lest bad rather then putting in the extra effort.
On a mush, I am sorry if you think the book saying create your own means staffers will be more open to it then they have shown to be in the past? If so you have far more faith in the hobby then I do.
Unrelated I have figured out at least half of my dislike for Changeling 2.0, the use of the term agency, any time i hear it not connected to a business formed to provide the services of an agent it sets off my new age buzz word alarm and I zone out. After thought I have little problem with the means of escape determining seeming, but every time the term agency comes up I want to play it less and less. -

@BetterJudgment
I did not notice that til you pointed it out. Made me giggle. -
RE: The State of the Chronicles of Darkness
My issue is that to me it completes a lot of the story for me before I make a character.
For example my orge idea that I would love to play is basically the guy who was shaped into a brute by the Gentry and then managed to escape but is scared of using his strength and struggles to control it. I do see that as possible given how the seemings are no set up if he used his strength or became harden to escape there goes a bunch of the growth that I would want to rp through on a MUSH, and on a MUSH I would delay that growth until he had another direction to go it. With the inital conflict resolved in char gen I am not sure why I would go out on grid.
Part of this is the difference between Tabletop and Mush play. Table top the story is primarily external so the internal resolution taking place in c-gen works because the game focuses on the events set up by the ST. In a MUSH the story is primarily internally focused, how does the character adapt and change, mainly because an external focus is impossible. Plots both PRP and Staff get started but never resolved all the time, so the only complete story available is the internal one. -
RE: Dark Metal - Still Up
I actually PKed someone that attacked me my first night on DM. It was wild, still the only PK I have done in my mushing career.
For it's rep which in many ways was deserved it was a lot of fun, and even with the worst staff it was usually very easy to avoid them and have fun. -
RE: Kushiel's Debut
@Tempest
I don't play on there currently but when I did, TS and sexual themes were present but no more so then you would run into on your average WoD game. -
RE: Dark Metal - Still Up
How many troupes are active? I was one of the folks on DM til the switch over to the troupe thing and it seemed like the only real active one was vampire. It that still the case?
Or have others started up?
Also I give a thumbs up to adding the NWoD content. -
RE: Optional Realities & Project Redshift
@Alzie
Hate to break it to you but I guarantee Knights of Sidonia was not the first to do that either.
It is a fairly standard colony ship set up. I make zero claims about who did it first but it is a very old Sci Fi trope. -
RE: Resource Scarcity System
Three or four botched hunts in a month? Well that person might want to change the hunting style.
Granted I have only been on two mushes that had coded hunting, Kingsmouth and Darkmetal way back in the day.
Both documented what stats go into each hunting style so unless you are determined to do something you come up with botches don't come up often.
I understand some players do not like the resource management aspect of games, and while Vampire is the only game that you have it for survival it is baked into all the WoD games and serves as a limited factor to power level. Not a I can't do it limit but a is this worth using precious energy on. I think the loosening of that constraint is one reason Mage gets such a bad rep on mushes. When energy/ammo is effectively limit-less there is little disincentive to throw the biggest gun at every problem.
And if the resources from the source do not matter then what does the source? If I can be at fell blood whenever which is how most games handle it, then why work to maintain all herd or domain it has no real benefit.
I know on games where i have to do more to refresh fuel, I tend to me more careful about things and likely more in theme then those where it is type a command get stuff with no risk. -
RE: What Do You Love About WoD?
I admit to being guilty of avoiding Sanctified though it has nothing to do with Sabbat, it has to do with living in the bible belt.
I get enough of people trying to explain why I am damned to me in RL (usually the fact I drink alcohol, or the flavor of Christianity I am ) that is tend to avoid it in pretendy fun times.
I know this is in no way the fault of any Sanctified player but it is my gut reaction. -
RE: What Do You Love About WoD?
I would have loved to see the space van but I was a filthy Traddie IC so likely not allowed to.

RE: Resource Scarcity System
For the most part yes, after all given that I was at most on for 4 to 6 hours in a given night that left 6 for off screen things., Mostly hunting and haven management. He had an NPC retainer that could handle mundane tasks as well.

RE: Resource Scarcity System
Last time I played a vamp , the way I dealt with blood was simple and easy. Make the hunt roll every day, I mean the system is right there in the book. Granted this was not at a place that had the coded blood pools like Kingsmouth.
I also know that 90 percent or more of players do not do this. I was later told by staff it was one of the things they found amusing the fact that out of a dozen or so vamps i was the only one the concerned themselves with hunting rolls. -
RE: Unisystem pros and cons?
There was no general unisystem books, and comes in two flavors Cinematic and Classic.
For Classic look for Witchcraft which is available free on Drive thru I think or it might be pay what you want, and Armageddon: Let the End Times Roll
Cinematic was Used in the licensed Buffy and Angel RPGs
All Flesh Must Be Eaten also uses one of the flavors of Unisystem, but since i am not a zombie fan i did not buy it so do not know which one. Other games using it may be out there as well .
