@Arkandel Thing is, Mage allowed you to do a lot of things that were probably not the best idea. Like scrutiny. You can give basically everyone you meet the hairy eyeball to determine if they're a supernatural or not. The amount of time it takes -- about three seconds -- is negligible. If you aren't doing this, you're stupid. But if you acted on this, they called it "icon twinking" or whatever, when in reality it's just "good habits."

Inaccurate. Scrutiny takes a long time. You can glance at someone with mage Sight and if they have some weird shit going on on the surface, sure; but as far as actually scrutinizing them, it took a lot longer. It's just that people don't read the book and also think you can someone get away with staring at someone for a full minute without the person going "hey, what do you want?"

Is that 1E or 2E rules? Because I haven't read 1E in years and 2E in ever.

Well, it pains me to say it, but tomororw, The Pack releases on DTRPG. This will make it so that Werewolf: the Forsaken 2nd Edition gets a supplement before Vampire the Requiem 2nd Edition.

      What the shit world.

Coo. That actually kind of sounds like what I'm looking for, because at this point I still have no idea what one actually does on WoD games. You'd think I would, hanging out here, but the impression I've gotten is that it's mostly, "I'm a vampire, and also I work at the bait shop."

Vampire who runs a vape shop is my next concept.

      The Red Rule, ahem, rules.

Also, chewing through more of the book, here are my thoughts:

      • Decisive/WIthering Combat: I am just going to have to play test this myself to get a feel for it, honestly
      • Social Influence/Intimacies - I like these a lot, including the fact that you can only push people so far
      • Crafting - Uh... huh. This seems to be a whole thing, I must say. I am just starting it, but crafting XP and project slots oh my

    • Exalted 3rd Edition Chatter

So this dropped last week, and I am still plowing through it. Anyone else begun reading it yet? I am going to need to play the system to really understand it, but off hand, here are the biggest changes I have yet noticed:

      • Martial Arts styles get stronger or weaker by your Exalt type, but are open to all
      • Artifacts are a lot more unique and specialized, which adds flavor but cuts on ease
      • Combat is all sorts of different, with two different damage tracks
      • 2 New classes of Exalt mentioned in the core rules - Liminal, which are like Frankenstein monster patchwork exalts and seem to be a terrestrial analogue to Abyssals, and Exigent, which are random ass one-off Exalts of minor gods. Neither gets a full write up in the main book, however
      • Sorcery - It is greatly expanded on and it seems counterspelling is now inate not a separate spell

@Coin said in I will design you a MUX:

I would actually play the fuck out of this. I have been kind of jonesing for a Lords and Ladies-type game that is also set in modern times (kind of like the ill-fated one-season series Kings). Modern conveniences and technology, but with antiquated governmental structure? Now that sounds interesting.

Oh Kings. So weird, so good, so doomed. I still pull out the DVD every now and again.

It is a good model for alt-history, in the way it said, "OK, it's basically modern times except in a made-up country that still has a king, just fucking go with it."

      Sorta like "The Princess Diaries"
