Agency is the big one here. Social stuff against NPCs all day, but no, I don't care how high you rolled on your manipulation/persuasion/whatever roll. You're not going to convince my character that drowning kittens is a good idea.

RE: Rise of Legends
@lotherio reading on phone so apOlogy if I misread, but it looks like you missed the point.
For me? I would rather play a carpenter in his late twenties turn magic student than a high school grad turned magic student instead. I like the learning aspect too.. but college kids just aren't that fun to play for me

RE: Rise of Legends
I get the desire to avoid grizzled vets, but why not allow "non-traditional students"? If magic and stuff is newly returned why not let older folks try their hand at it? personally I was interested in the ad until I saw the teen requirement and that's a non-starter for me and I am probably not alone in that.

RE: ROGUE: It is coming...
I think limiting the geographic area of play is more important than the factions/type of characters.
Age of Alliances for example has dozens of planets and several factions, but most of the RP was focused on one planet (may have changed with TFA/TLJ time lune going into affect) so you never had real trouble finding folks to RP with.

RE: Sci Fi/Opera Originality
Isn't all the Paizo stuff still covered under the OGL or whatever it was an has to be made available? Maybe not in fancy pdf version, but the strict text rules?

RE: ROGUE: It is coming...
It's still plausible I think. You have to make some adjustments for force folks and time line though. TFA and TLJ basically happen right after each other... hard to say where the third one will fall in line

Not yet. Was waiting for Ares to be released before poking at it

RE: Random links
I had read a couple of reviews for the movie and it seemed like the critics weren't even critiquing the movie, but had just read a synopsis of it and stated that they weren't interested in the theme. The movie certainly wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. Had I paid to go see it in a theater I wouldn't have felt robbed and am looking forward to see what they do as a sequel.

@sincerely I'm in the same boat. Have to admit, jealous of @fortydeuce!

The fact that you already have all of the tax documents you need is just shy of amazing itself

RE: iOS 11 and MudRammer
@theonceler what do you mean by multitasking?

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
and repeated studies have shown that no, us millennials are not better at multitasking. We just think we are.

RE: The trappings of posing
General spelling and basic grammar is important. It's language and we need to be able to understand what you're trying to do/say. I also do most of my MUing from a phone so get occasional autocorrect silliness.
Pose length and detail... I'd prefer Neil Gaimen over Stephen Erickson. If someone's pose takes up the entire buffer on my phone I can and have made an excuse to leave the scene.
Tempo - whatever works. I've done scenes that took all day with an hour sometimes between poses. One advantage of phone RP, goes with me. If I am going to be slow (which I usually am) I do give a warning though
I prefer round robin pose order unless it is a really big event. In an every day scene once people go 3pr I excuse myself and leave.

(trying to seed things on lower characters and let it flow up) than top down, since I think the characters in positions of power tend to naturally get involved regardless.
Please. Top down is not very effective. It stays at the top.

There IS an issue that has continued with information sharing that I find puzzling and it does seem to be ongoing, like clues are candy and people just hate sharing their candy sometimes??
Isn't much of a puzzle. People aren't always good at sharing the spotlight and sharing means they may have to share it... for those that are more collaborative there is this:

...even potentially share all the associated clues, though that was AP-expensive),
It's systematically discouraged.
I strongly encourage people to do org clues to be more AP efficient with clue sharing, but it doesn't always (rarely) happens.

@wildbaboons I had a similar eye-opening moment when during uh, some kind of Q&A session they ran on public channel, @Apos mentioned the (fairly large, though I forget the exact) # of secret orgs. With neither of my characters being in any, it was a little perception-changing.
Yes! this! I knew there was a couple. A handful maybe. Apparently there are tons and that is where a lot of plot seems to be.

It was really, really hard even back in Alpha / early Beta if you weren't constantly active / knew the right people.
This likely will always be the case just by virtue of how these things work, especially with the theme of Secrecy on Arx, but it applies everywhere too. I'm a very casual player that only manages a couple of scenes a week usually. Things got put in perspective for me a few weeks ago when people were mentioning their hundreds of clues and how hard it was to manage them while I've been playing for maybe 19-20 months now and have about 25 clues. Clearly, I'm playing wrong, but it also means that I often have no idea where to even begin getting involved with things. The last couple of months I've found the right folks to involve myself with that throw plot involvement my way and it has been some of my funnest times on the game.
