To me, if my character is going to advance, I'd like them to actually advance. I've sat at many tables, and played many games where the mooks scale up with the PCs and it gets tiresome to me. Level bosses, for sure make them tough and scale them up, but when the warm ups take three hours of rolling to deal with, why bother advancing?

RE: Depression Meals
I've been getting into Instant Pot stir fries. It's a gross looking mess when it comes out, but holy shit is it tasty as fuck. And it takes about 5 minutes of work.

RE: Lords of the Expanse
@Lotherio I was thinking about this hack for doing a hackers type scenario as well. Having a group of PCs driving their decks as they attack the SysOp running their Gibson has me very happy. Using floppies as ammo, taking cover in a directory tree as the ICE hunts them down..
Especially as I realize the vehicle code could have the computers blowing up star trek style and killing the users!
One of these days I'll get around to taking this seriously rather than working on my steam backlog.

Dedicated worker in the cubicle next to me felt guilty that she had taken 2 days off sick and decided to come share her chunky cough with everyone.
For fucks sake, you get paid sick days for a reason! Don't give me fucking TB!

RE: Good TV
@ThugHeaven I wonder if a tight budget forces them to put more effort into story and writing than special effects?

Someone licked the filling from all of the office oreos and put the cookie parts back in the bag. WTF.

This is why I think every professional website should have at least 3 themes. Bright white ones for normals, dark, muted ones for defectives like me, and some for colour blind people.

Got the feedback on my 'work so far' today and one of the things my instructor wants me to do is to replace my intro with 'Welcome to my slice of the web.'
Don't forget the animated construction gif at the bottom with the visitor counter!

Star Trek: Discovery,
I'm so worried about this show. I was super excited until I heard it was pre-Kirk, then I was only like, okay, breathe, it's not going to be terrible, quantum leap guy isn't in it.. Then I saw the preview, please don't those be the klingons, please don't let those be the klingons..

RE: Eliminating social stats
After reading all this, I really want to mess with FS3 to make argument weapons now. Deciding faction directions and goals would be hilarious.

RE: Small Questions, Mk III: Advertising/Spam Robots
I'd be interested in seeing the success statistics of forum bots like that. They seem like more work than just email spam.

RE: RL things I love
@WTFE what kind of adventures are you going to go on with those hats? You need machetes, knee socks and khaki short shorts to go with them!

RE: Looking for potential staff for a Colonial Marines (Aliens) game
@misadventure I particularly liked how they named their skill levels. I remember a month or two ago on Ares, there was a discussion about what to name the levels and it seemed nobody could really agree, but Aliens had very clear names that made sense.
@Ghost I think a game like that would translate well to an automated mush environment. Though, that might be more mud like than some people like.
Edit to add:
Holy shit..

@autumn I knew there was a reason I skipped Cyclops panels when I was a kid.

RE: RL Anger
The best is when my office has a company paid for lunch thing and they get all huffy when I bring my own lunch because their vegan options always boil down to an apple and some carrot sticks splashed with ranch dressing that you can totally just wipe off. Like, just fuck off, if you're not going to spring for actual options, don't make this shit mandatory to attend and then get bitchy when I bring my own food.

Do you ever include non-Mu events into your games?
Recently on Denver, one of the staffers began running an Urban Brawl league, which I think is pretty cool. It allows for betting and trashtalking between fans, and it got me thinking about things.
Has anyone thought about implementing an extra-mu game into their game? Like running a side Blood Bowl campaign via steam or whatever to see the results of the local football game, or just importing scores from RL sports leagues/stock markets/whatever for IC consequences?
If so, has it gone well? I think this sort of thing could be fun for some of the background events that aren't vital, but might be interesting to the playerbase. I think it would be a hoot to have the BBoard news reporting on the wars in far off places by bringing up how a Heroes & Generals campaign is going, or the results of a Starcraft match.

There's already discussions on ways to enhance the 'OH GOD THEY KILLED KENNY YOU BASTARDS' beyond hoping people can give a damn about an NPC that was in two ST poses.
Because this is a thing I care much about and I think I've even had discussions with @Seraphim73 in the past on it.
I remember in one of my scenes on BSUnification, the players seemed actually choked up when the throwaway NPCs bought it. I may have been cheating by throwing a pupper into the mix, though, but I was really impressed with the buy in by the players for that mission.
