There is literally zero discussion from anyone here regarding suggesting that you address "offensiveness". People are specifically addressing sexual matters. Please don't put words into my mouth. "I don't want to deal with someone harassing me sexually" and "I don't want to see anything I find offensive" are VERY VERY VERY different things and I absolutely object VERY STRONGLY to you characterizing the point being made this way. I would recommend that anything sexual in any fashion involving another PC be something that that PC's player has to consent to. This includes fantasies of consensual action and the like. Not that the other character can't have them, but that they can't be explored on screen (in any way, shape, or form) about another player's character without that player agreeing to it OOC. Because of the nature of the game's reality, fantasies of consensual acts could easily be used for the purposes of being a creep.

I'm not interested in persuading you or changing your mind about a design choice in making your game. It's clear you feel the way you do about it. I might find it personally terrible, but my recourse is very easy for me: don't play. I am just asking on behalf of other people (please do feel free to ignore my request) that you make your priorities VERY CLEAR so that nobody spends the time to engage and invest only to have to walk away because of your design choices.

No. It is not. I think it's VERY IMPORTANT that you make this stance VERY CLEAR on the game itself and your wiki if it already isn't. It is not a BAD thing to say "I value the integrity of the IC world over the safety of my players", it's a design choice. It's a design choice that will exclude a lot of people that you may or may not intend to exclude, but every design choice is likely to do that somewhere.

Characters do not have to feel safe. Characters can have risks, bad things happening to them, danger, all of that.

You still want your players to feel safe. Players, not characters. If the players can't feel safe to have fun / play, they won't.

If your intended audience is just people who can go balls to the wall all the time, who have an iron will and a strong stomach (so to speak), there's nothing inherently wrong with that. Please just make it very clear so that people who might be sensitive (to whatever thing, for whatever reason) know that they aren't welcome in the first place.

ETA: I am a "snowflake" and I am "triggered" by content involving both sexual assault and suicide. If this is something I have no recourse for avoiding on this game, I would want to know about it, so I don't get involved in the first place. I am using myself as an example because it's an easy one, and I know I'm not the only one, not because it's something I'm suggesting be addressed for me personally.

That's the problem with cultures, technically correct and actually correct can be vastly different. If they had called it CofD ten years ago, well we'd all call nWoD CofD, but they took too long, we have our own names for it, and it will probably never be widespread in the hobby that CofD=all nWoD material.

You are not the entirety of the hobby. Plenty of people use the appropriate terminology. You were wrong. Get over it.

It hadn't been a half hour when my mother calls me FREAKING OUT about 'why do you need to learn Spanish?!?!'

I don't think she believed me when I said I just wanted to learn it to learn it.

So I joined this FB group that the site suggested because it looked neat. I've been getting a lot more interested in trying to figure out ways I can be a better human, and so there was this group that is all women for women being supportive and safe, and it's a world-wide community rather than a US-centric one, so there's a lot of women from very different cultures. It's heavily moderated and it's all women supporting women with everything from living with arranged marriages to getting out of abusive relationships. They have days that you post types of topics, like asking for relationship help, or career help, or w/e. The mods help the ladies craft their posts if they need help.

I think it's been one of the best experiences of my life. In the past few weeks I have learned SO much. Like it's unreal. I have gotten to help people. Like really help. And I've even made a few new friends that like, one of them we don't speak the same language, just use translation programs, but it's been filling my heart up.
