The are going for the current version of CoD, aka NWoD 2.0 aka the GMC stuff.
Though that said I know of at least two since Theno made one and RfK had one and I don't think they were the same.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
Yeah I have not seen it yet but I had heard they were connected.
Honestly the connection makes me less likely to see it rather there more. -
RE: Coming in 2016 - Bump in the Night
@Kanye-Qwest
Sometimes the OOC asking can lead to more IC acceptance.
If I am in a public scene or a scene that has gone private scene in a public place I have no problem with people joining I ma in an IC public place after all.
But how you enter and join in appropriate. If someone tosses out Hey mind if I join? I will find a way to include them regardless of the spindling of IC mindset i might have to do to make that possible. We are all in the game together after all.
However if they say nothing OOC but just enter and start posing, to be this comes off as mildly rude. Not a big deal but still noticeable. In that case I would only involve them if it was what i think the my character would do and even then likely subconsciously lean a bit to the cool at best response to that person. -

RE: White House/Political MUX
@Arkandel Grins that is part of the wince inducing.
I suppose you could say level or xp total but even then I know there are multiple people that have maxed that out. -
RE: White House/Political MUX
Along the same lines one of the most wince inducing things I have ever heard from NCIS
"<name> has the high score on almost every MMO out there."
I was just ugh, disregarding the score on an mmo issue the shear amount of time that would be required to maintain a 'high score' on even two let alone "almost every" one would be so much that the person would not have time to sleep or eat let alone whatever it was the plot had them doing.

RE: RL Anger
@SG
In his defense Street Fighter like most fighting games has a great backstory, it is just that for the most part you get none of that during the play experience. -
RE: White House/Political MUX
I was a big fan of West Wing so I think the rp/game part of it could be a lot of fun.
But if this primary season has taught me anything it is that people will use just about any comment to try and start a political argument, so the thought of the probable OOC rants being tossed at one another by the players would have me definitely passing on a game like this til mid 2017 at the earliest. -
RE: Space Lords and Ladies
@Apos
I agree with you to extant. My initial post was not an attempt to put blame on things or even say what I want is better. It is just looking at how this things have developed and saying unless there is a set plan in place ot prevent it , how the next iteration will likely develop as well.
For my perspective it matter little to me weather they are playing politics by design, desire, or default the end result is still a mostly political game. -
RE: Space Lords and Ladies
I have seen multiple games that attempted to be both Lords and Ladies as well has having other options available , every time the L+L part has been dominant the other side withered one the vine usually fairly quickly. Star Crusade for all it's faults had more adventuring actually taking place then most , so my question for those that are championing having the perspective game be both is how do you succeed where the other s have failed?
The character I love to play are the lower nobles usually third sons out of any real inheritance structure out on adventures. I have learned that regardless of intent for the most part games to not support this, regardless of what they say. The support you making it but when it comes down to what actually goes on it tends to be the same old L+L stuff.
I would recommend that unless you have a solid and detailed plan to be different that you cut out the adventurer side of things and just let those that want to be L+L have their stuff. You will likely get fewer players but also don't have to deal with the disgruntled adventurer players you will end up with either. -
RE: Good TV
@Roz
See the sexiness is covered for me with the Bond girls, though I will concede the need for a fifth base ot be covered for part of the audience. -
RE: Good TV
@Roz
Moore's Bond smoke and drank and slept around, and I remember him saving the world at least one in the movies he did. All my required bases were covered. -
RE: Good TV
The only Bond I have not liked was Brosnan's, and that is because he didn't smoke in the role.
To me Bond is the wonderful Id personified, he drinks, he smokes, he sleeps around and does it all so well he saves the world. The exact means and style vary but those are just details but the walking Id needs to stay the same. -
RE: Shadowrun Denver & New Plot
Initially Shadorwun was very much cyberpunk with magic and elves... and I hated it with a passion. Still do hate that era of it, mainly cause I like my cyberpunk with out that.
Fourth and fifth edition really are not cyberpunk at all. They are still noir-ish but is is closer to more conventional near future sci fi, most of the punk elements have been removed or shunted to the back ground. Heck some parts of the meta plot even show marked improvement in the world. Shadowrun is as much about the world the characters are in as it is the characters themselves.
I would guess that yes most Shadowrun tabletops feature the a group of traditional illegal service doing operatives just like most D+D games feature the standard adventuring party roaming through abandoned ruins and killing thing to take their stuff. As to what the character do when not on that activity, well that will always depend on the table or mush. I have been in D+D games where any time not on adventures was glassed over in a couple of sentences.
Now the question as to what the characters do when not busy is an important one for MUSHes since I have always described mushing as essentially rping out most of the stuff that gets glossed over in a table top, but for the most part has to be answered on a player level not a game design one.
Though is MUSHes provide a guide it is basically become college students, a lot of drinking and coupling. -
RE: RL Anger
@Ganymede
Well is first post about someone quitting was four days ago and it was just this.Human beings are useless sacks of shit. I swear to Glob the next person to get a job where I work and quit I'm going to track them down and fuck them to death.
That is, to say. The new hire quit before her training was even done.
Initially he made no mention of her failings just the fact she quit, This is what me and a few others initially responded to, and what I still take issue with. If someone wants to quit that is perfectly alright.
I even agree with his second post on the topic that she quit badly. Had his second post been the first I would not have responded. -
RE: Space Lords and Ladies
If there are space orcs the Spelljammer fan in me wants them to be called Scro.
