@meg There's not even a solid 'this' here to be poo-poo'd.

It is the only place you will likely ever find one. Or maybe Goodwill.

RE: Paragraphs, large scenes and visibility
You're doing most of what I do, I think the only thing I'd add is putting people / keywords beyond your own character's name into highlights. Like I have my PC's family, her friends' names, the group she belongs to, and so on. I highlight basically everything I can think of that should catch my eyes, and then I acknowledge that I'm skimming everything else and let my guilt for said skimming go because you can really only pay attention as a person to so much. I forgive myself for missing poses sent my way that don't include my character's name.
I also scroll back a page or so when I'm trying to read wall-o-text so it isn't moving on me, and then advance the screen at my pace instead of the pace of 30 people posing at once. It overwhelms me less that way, to read a page at a time instead of seeing it go and go and go. I get it all read at the same general pace either way, but this way one tiny little something something is no longer providing stimulation that adds to the overwhelmed.

RE: General Video Game Thread
Does anyone else play SWTOR? Isn't Onslaught great? I feel like they literally tailored the xpac for me. They even put the HK chapter on the cartel market. It is so weird (and wonderful, mind) to actually be a target audience for a game.

RE: Mobile Bug
I just switched browsers for now. This site isn't the only one having issues with the new Chrome build. I presume that they'll be fixing it down the line. I hope.

Ugh. I completely understand this and I'm sorry. I have had way too many surgeries on my foot and it suuuuucks. Long term foot pain is the worst.

RE: WoD MUSH Comparison?
There are a lot of nWoD games. This 'unofficial' and 'official' replacement, that's not quite how mushes work. They're closing The Reach, and opening Fallcoast. The reasons and such behind it are what they are and irrelevant to what you're asking, I think. Drama. You can sum it up with that, and if you're going to mush, get used to Drama.
There are a host of single sphere games, and several upcoming games / young games for nWoD. Eldrich is the only one I'd recommend that I know of that are up and running -- Reno and Kingsmouth both have good reputations, but they're more limited in their scope and are not the massive sphere thing that Eldrich will someday (it is hoped) be. There's a splinter game off of TR called Safe Haven Harbor, but it's invite only and I can't say I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't already invested in it. I stress that this is not 'unofficial' or 'official' -- the people involved in creating it had every right to the material, whether or not The Reach folks agree with that. None of it was the Reach's stuff to begin with, and afaik the actual creator of TR is okay with SHH being out there.
The oWoD games that are big that I know of are City of Hope and New Prospect, which are essentially the same game. The reason they're big and popular is because they're open chargen, no BG required, no policing of the grid, no staff run plot, giant sandboxes, basically. I'd warn an new musher away from both of them purely because you need to go in with a skillset for finding RP and taking care of your own fun that are purely mushing skills. You'll pick them up elsewhere.
What I have seen is that a lot of the people fleeing TR are either going to Eldrich, Kingsmouth, or Reno, or they're leaving the genre entirely and branching off into non-WoD games. I've seen an influx of players on several non-WoD games, and one of them has blown up with people in direct relation to TR's nosedive.
Hope that's helpful. Eldrich is your best bet as a new player looking for a good nWoD game with sane, ethical staff and an above-average playerbase, I think. Both Reno and Kingsmouth are good, but they're more niche than Eldrich is.

RE: General Video Game Thread
I am not going to spam the board lol like I started to do. If anyone else wants my dish on the ftp vs subscribing, let me know. Otherwise the tl;dr is that the free stuff is worth doing, since it's Bioware good and it's free. Shadows of Reven was opened for ftp with this xpac and it is GOOD.

RE: WoD MUSH Comparison?
WoD is one thing, but this is actually dramatically different in several other genres. It's not an entirely reasonable issue across the board -- it might be entirely reasonable within the context of the games you enjoy/play on/play in, but it's nowhere near as universal as you're presenting it. It's rather the norm in at least two genres, every LARP game I've ever played in/was a storyteller for, and I'd say in 75% of the tabletop games I've played, the GM has a character in it. .
People bitching on TR really shouldn't be used as a litmus for something being reasonable or not.
Edited to add: As an example, I played on a game for a while that to get certain abilities, you had to run the plot for yourself / your character and include other people. This is far less cut and dry than presented.

@Sunny It's a great game! We're gonna buy the expansion soon for our group.
COMPLETELY worth it. 100%. I have no group right now but maybe someday. SOMEDAY.

I do not know, nor do I care.
WTF is wrong with you? My 'I don't know or care' was a direct reply to 'do you think any of them actually play on MU*s?'.
ETA: To go even further, I obviously didn't reply to the other post you quoted, because it was not directed at me. The previous post, there is no way, shape, or form you can even BEGIN to say it wasn't directed to me because IT WAS DIRECTLY ADDRESSED TO ME.

Please do. Another OGR sort of place would be fantastic. Just make sure it's more OGR and less Mu-Gateway and Storyteller's Circle.

RE: Roster Characters & WoD?
Back in the days of yore I donβt recollect it being written down places, and I vaguely remember thinking of it in a βI wonder if this is one of the games that let you, have to ask to find outβ sort of way. (And I remember being supremely relieved when it was a yes, and somehow still surprised when it was allowed on Arx, because I vaguely recall it NOT being an option for aaaages).
