      Big white board with dry erase markers. If you want to get fancy, you can spend some time and use a permanent marker to put up a square or hex grid.

      This. OMG this.

      @arkandel If you're gonna play the new Star Wars games get the app for the dice. Otherwise use physical dice, you heathen!

      @lisse24 Even right now, lifestyle awards prestige, yes (don't change anything you're doing though, since there was a post about prestige being reset eventually). +home/lifestyle from your home will show you the amount.

      @lisse24 I don't understand your position. If you're happy to dump funds into lifestyle to achieve the same ends, why is someone else having the option a problem?

      The benefit I see as to making clothes and the like actually do things is that it's incentive for us to buy things from crafters and it helps keep the economy moving. If there isn't things to spend money on that actually do things, the money becomes pointless.

      I am bouncing off the walls this morning because an old friend is coming back to mushing. Bouncing. Off. The. Walls.

      My boss asked what was up. I told her. She UNDERSTOOD and was excited for me.

      I have the best job ever.

      @cupcake I love that dog. Seeing pictures of him is great, and I can totally imagine this just having seen said pictures. What a good boy.

      @lisse24 That or you are just a bit more south of me to get only ice. We're getting rain mixed with snow (Because Floridians have never /heard/ of the word 'sleet' before) and actual snow, that might actually stick. Wouldn't that be something...

      SOMETHING DREADFUL!

      Wintry mix and sleet are different things!

      Not everyone is from Seattle! They only have like one word for rain, too!

      (no I am not being serious)

      So, not worth even discussing it as a potential problem that could use brainpower applied before we get there. Right-o, then.

      I reaaaaaaaaaaaally think this particular angle is a discussion we should be having alongside, because we're gonna need solutions if we DO pick up a wider appeal through all of these miracles.

      I want to point out that honest to god, we don't want the flood gates to open from these other RP communities. If we tip over to 'too accessible' (that sounds terrible, and I don't mean it like that) we'll have to readdress a lot more than the technology involved. Our games are all structured, roughly, the same way. You need a staffer for every 10-50 players, depending on how your game is set up, right?

      What happens if ONE of these sites that has 10k people or more decides that what we're doing actually looks super fun and becomes a trend? What does that population do to our hobby and how we have things structured? Aside from the technical aspects of it, I reaaaaaaaaaaaally think this particular angle is a discussion we should be having alongside, because we're gonna need solutions if we DO pick up a wider appeal through all of these miracles.

      Like, I am quite sure this is going to happen. You guys are smart people. Omg. The amazing things that are being done with our technology and what we have at our fingertips and the utterly just AMAZING AMAZING THINGS @faraday and @Griatch and @rook and @Ashen-Shugar and @ixokai and @Thenomain and @surreality and @Sparks and all of the rest of you guys (I am sorry, I know I have forgotten a few of the heavy hitters, I am still on my first cup of coffee) are doing...we've got solutions in sight. This problem is being addressed, it's making progress, and where we are NOW from where we were even 2 years ago is fucking INCREDIBLE. Ares and Evennia and the magic that Rhost does, the tools I have available to me as a game designer that I did not have the last time I wanted to make a game...fuck, you guys are making SIGNIFICANT progress, especially in the last 10 years or so. We're gonna get this.

      What're we going to do when it does explode? I think if that topic doesn't get addressed alongside, we could actually explode ourselves out of existence the other way. ^^

      Started to post about this as a side note in another posts, but realized it belonged here.

      I do not get along with one of my sisters at all. Like at all, she is not a nice person. But today, we were holidaying at my mom's, and all of the sudden my sister is moving to get in between our sister-in-law and her own kid. 'NO, she does not have to hug you if she doesn't want to. It is her choice to touch or not.' Total growly mama. I have not liked my sister that much in years.

      @firansurvivor And? You don't get to yell at someone for making generalities by doing so yourself. I don't care if other people were in some other space. She was not. My point was she was not. That other people do/were is irrelevant.

      Hate is distinct from dislike. One is ok, the other when felt about a movie makes you a damn lunatic.

      @faraday Same. I am building my game with the intent of educating people on source material I do not expect them to be familiar with. It's my job to teach this stuff, if I want to draw people in who aren't already part of the culture.

      @zombiegenesis

      I don't see that she was talking about you, but not in the way that implies. You disliked the movie. You had reasons.

      You are not rabid, frothing hate at the mouth. She specifically said hate. You do not hate. Waaaay diffefent.

      ETA: There were literally Reddit groups coordinating and campaigning to drive down the ratings. THAT is what she is characterizing as the MRA stuff.

      @packrat

      I read a bunch of reviews where the critics were bitching about the brand of humor and lack of depth/range and all the descriptions made me wonder if the critic realized that the Will Smith formula is, you know, why people watch his silly movies (as opposed to his not silly movies where he isn't just doing a Will Smith thing) in the first place.

      @helloproject Glad to hear. Super happy for you! Good luck finding a therapist that works for you, but also good job on taking the time to get one that is just right instead of whomever.
