I think the problem with M&M as a system for MU's is that the people who get it, get it. Those who don't? As stated, feel out of place. Which is too bad because it genuinely is a solid system.
I will bounce off what @coin said to pitch Part-Time Gods, not post-apoc/post-god(s), but I like how it manages to have basically a superhero "all-spark" mythos but not be drowned out by an all-encompassing metaplot or setting focus. I personally find it awfully human, which is to say I think it would make a good Mu*. I would play it as an optimistic future, knowing that the gods in our past were complete dicks.
Guys, please respect the OP's request. Make a different thread for the copyright stuff.
Why not split it off and move the posts so the discussion isn't split up (or, since I think it's pretty talked out, so it isn't buried in a random thread for posterity).
Marvel Heroic, for sure. The biggest trick will be establishing a means of semi-consistent CG constraints just so you don't have people wanting to put a d10 or d12 in everything.
The Valiant RPG kind of has a way to do that, but I'm not sure how easily it could be translated to the MH system.
I don't necessarily agree but I see what people are saying about FCs. I think it'd still be awesome with OCs, maybe even better because then you can combine your favorite wrestlers; I'd totally have The Macho Maniac.
@ixokai There's a Central Casting character (NPC) that's gay, and his uncle is the priest at the local Catholic Church and accepts him, which isn't really troubles? Beyond that, not sure!
Yeah, I apparently had a very vivid dream which went weird. Ignore that part!
Here's a broad pastiche MUSH, with a Romance of the Three Kingdoms faction build, an Alpha Centauri Probe Team setting, Cold War faction dynamics, and a proposed combat system resembling your average late 1990s FPS.
Today I convinced the editors that a non-transitive asymmetrical ratings structure of custom tier counts per Kith, Keeper, Court and Page number would best represent the Lost.
You have a bunch of different dice depending on skill levels, from 1d4-2 all the way to 1d12. In addition, heroes get another 1d6 to roll. Everything explodes. And you succeed on a 4+ unless there's horrible conditions.
