In general I am against the wholesale deleting of stuff and against editing that changes the substance of a post.
However I see editing tools as a necessity and if some one can edit a post down to a single letter then letting them delete is not really an issue.
Mostly I consider it poor form but not the sort of thing that can be prevented without loss of necessary functionality.
That said when someone is noticed to be doing this I am all for the public shamming of them.

Over here in Dayton, the burgers are under $5. How this qualifies as being as expensive as a restaurant is beyond me.
Wow that is a lot cheaper then Five Guys is where I am at. Here it is like $7 for the burger not counting fries and a drink, price wise it is about the same point as Red Robin.
My favorite place for burgers is local and only open three hours a day, as far as chains go my favorite burgers are Steak-n-Shake though my opinions on burgers are like my opinions on beer, I like most of them so will always want to try one I have not had. -

@Goldfish I am also going to give a shout-out to the reverse form, where you stumble upon someone IC and make a mutual, spur-of-the-moment decision that your characters are going have backstory. And then it actually works.
My Haunted Memories character once met someone who happened to have the same last name -- I'd picked it specifically because it was one of the most common surnames in Austria, so it wasn't a shock -- and who then paged me to say, basically, "We have the same name, let's be relatives!" So we just rolled with that, inventing relatives and relationship details on the fly in the middle of the scene and working one another into our backstories. And it was fabulous.
That reminds me of what is still one of my favorite bits of RP. Why back in the day on Tartarus, (I think that was the game, it was the one started by the dude ho left DM in a hissy fit after the Inner Sphere got exploded.) I had a werewolf named Max Juno, there was another character that was just named Max, who was a mage. We used to get mail and pages meant for the other all the time. So we decided we were IC neighbors that had a really lazy mailman. It lead to a lot of fun RP and one really awkward IC but wonderful OOC when they discovered what each other really were.

I thought Five Guys was good bit not as great as I was lead to believe now I still enjoy them and consider them a treat but not the end all be all of burgers I hear a lot of folks describing them as.

RE: RL things I love
If I thought it would be possible I would so do this with fast food for different regions of the US, 'cause every now and then I really crave a Whataburger and would dearly love to try an In + Out burger.
Sadly unlike snacks the fast food would not survive the mailing process. -
RE: Fading Suns 2017
Songtress might be right. I absolutely love Fading Suns as a setting to the point where I have run multiple table tops using it and unlike a lot of folks i like the system as well, that said after my experiences on Star Crusade and L+L games in general I know i would avoid a Fading Suns Mu*.
I would not be surprised to see another pop up as there are a few folks that are really devoted to the setting so one never knows what the new year could bring. -
RE: The Lost Dominion MUX
I like the Rifts world so I do plan on checking it out once I get a flash of character inspiration. Checked out the wiki and nothing smacked of insanity which is a good start.

Some people around here refer to everyone as sir and ma'am because that is how they address folks.
I tend to do this, any unknown adult I address with either sir or ma'am honestly not sure what else would be polite when I didn't know the name.

I meant that Rousey got older, and lost her inability to get knocked the fuck out.
Not an MMA fan but as a boxing fan, one of the truisms in that related sport is that the first thing to go is the ability to absorb punishment.
I did not watch Rousey's latest fight but I did watch the Holm fight and I will say Holm did not get lucky she controlled the fight. It is the old adage "Styles make fights." Holm's style was not something that Rousey could deal with. True, Rousey had dealt with other strikers but not all strikers are the same style, just as not all grapplers are the same style.
Another facet of the Hols loss was the loss of mystique, before the loss she was the face of Women's MMA and through her string of quick wins had an intimidation factor, the loss made her human and beatable. Look at Tyson he was never the same fighter after Buster Douglas beat him. He still won matches and titles but he was no longer feared in the same way.
I do think Rousey made a mistake in taking this fight as the first match back purely from a financial perspective she should have gone the Tyson route and fought a couple of tomato cans to get a roll going, though I don't follow the sport nearly enough to know who the female MMA equivalent to Peter McNeely would be. -

@bladesurfer Can you speak to why you are using FATE instead of Rifts for a Rifts game?
Joining in, I say this as someone who actually likes the Palladium system for some things, (Palladium Fantasy, and Ninjas and Superspies) in general the system breaks at the power levels of Rifts, add to the fact there is not even close to power balance between the OOCs in Rifts itself you have something that works with some effort for small groups. I am currently using it for a table top but I would never consider turning it loose onto a MU*.

RE: International Music.
Mildly off topic since one of bands is from the US, but if your tastes run along Punk lines and you are looking for Spanish language music check out Molotov and Union 13, the first is from Mexico the second from Southern California but both are mainly Spanish language music.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
The big question is have you have Jill for a Guest yet?
That is when you know you have truly succeeded as a game. -
RE: Sensitive cultural/political/religious aspects of game themes.
The way I would go if I was running something in that sort of setting is to clearly and upfront state the general feeling of the NPCs of the world but still allow Players to choose the roles they wish for PCs after all PCs by definition are the exceptions from the norm, and exist to overcome difficulties. That said I know I would be less likely to pick a setting that had elements I was not comfortable with, and I can totally understand players making the decision to avoid settings that would require them to deal with unpleasant aspects of live that they have to deal with every day of their lives.
And I also fell the need to say that while IC -isms might be part of a games theme or otherwise allowable and a perfectly acceptable part of RP, and instance of OOC behavior along those lines should be jumped on with extreme prejudice. -

OK. That could be a lot of fun. Plus, y'know, younger generation. They could just go and get a home insemination kit. >.>
Thanks you for pointing this out. Going a bit off topic here but that is one thing that has always annoyed me about the whole dwindling population trope if you are in any setting with modern or better technology reproduction through sexual intercourse is not particularly required for bloodlines continuing.

RE: RL Anger
@Coin, good point. Stubborn as something that is very stubborn. A donkey or something, probably.
Since I am using the name I should be That Guy here and point out donkeys are especially stubborn about the same as horses for the most part, it is mules that are known for their stubbornness and the definitely deserve that rep.
Must be part of the hybrid thing but mules tend to be both more intelligent than either of their parent species but also far more stubborn. -
RE: Help With Played Bys
I already have my next played by picked out. No clue on a character since I have no ideas for those at the moment but I have decided my next played by will be Victor Mature, I think he has a great look without really looking like most current movie stars, and as a plus I doubt anyone else will be using him.

RE: RL Anger
@Auspice
It could also be a difference in the regions, after all the Carolinas are on the east coast where I am currently about a third of a continent west of there, and I have noticed i hear it more in Kentucky and Tennessee then in Louisiana or Mississippi. -
RE: RL Anger
I have not minded when people I am dating use it with me.
I entirely mind it when people I'm not dating (or worse: barely know) use it.As a transplant to the upper south this touches on something that drive me insane. The use of honey, hun, sugar, sweetie etc with total strangers, every time I hear it directed at me which is multiple times a day I want to ask the person, do we actually know each other?
I am fine with all of the above as terms of endearment with folks that I am endeared to or that are endeared to me but I would seriously rather have a stranger refer to me as 'hey asshole' than 'hun'.

RE: How To Advertise?
If your game is based on an already established property you might also want to advertise to that fandom.

We are getting more Zach McGowan, therefore I do not fucking care if all the cast does is take turns reading the phone book after the world goes nuclear, and I am The 100% serious on this point.
At first I read that as Zach Gowen and became really confused.
